This Privacy Policy explains how Emergent Consulting Pty Ltd ACN 608 733 679 (Emergent, we, us, our) collects, holds, uses and discloses personal information through this website and our related digital channels, including our forms, emails, meeting booking and social media pages.
We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). This Policy sets out how we do that and what you can expect from us.
This Policy does not apply to personal information we access or handle while delivering services to a client. That information, including any health or other sensitive information, is handled under our written agreement with that client, on the client's instructions and subject to the client's own privacy obligations. We use it only to deliver the engagement and protect it to the standard the agreement requires.
If your personal information is held by an organisation we work with, please contact that organisation first.
We may collect:
Sensitive information. Please do not send health, clinical or other sensitive information about yourself or anyone else through this website or our forms. We do not need it to respond to you. If it is sent to us, we will treat it as unsolicited and destroy or de-identify it as soon as practicable, unless the law permits us to keep it.
Dealing with us without identifying yourself. You can browse this website without telling us who you are. To respond to an enquiry, book a meeting or send you a resource, we need your name and contact details.
We collect personal information when you:
We may also collect business contact information from publicly available sources, such as your organisation's website and professional networking platforms, where it relates to your role and our services.
Our enquiry form asks how you found us and uses your answers to decide whether to offer a meeting time straight away. This is explained in section 6.
We use personal information to:
Tracking and personalisation. We use analytics and customer relationship management (CRM) tools to improve and personalise the client experience. When you submit a form, these tools can connect the information you provide with how you have used our website and responded to our emails, before and after that point. We use this to understand what is relevant to you and your organisation, to respond more effectively and to tailor the content we show and send you. Our Cookie and Tracking Notice explains this in more detail and how to limit it.
Marketing emails. You can opt out of marketing emails at any time using the unsubscribe link in every email or by contacting us. We will still send messages you need, such as meeting confirmations.
Our enquiry form uses an automated rule. When you complete the form, it uses your answer to "How did you find us?" and the information you give about your role, your organisation and what you are looking for to decide whether to offer you a meeting time straight away. The decision is made by the form, without a person reviewing it at that point.
If a meeting time is not offered, you will receive a relevant resource and may hear from us later. It does not stop you dealing with us. You can call us on 1800 849 166 at any time to arrange a conversation or ask how the form works.
We do not use automated processes to make any other decision about you that has a significant effect on you.
We disclose personal information only as needed for the purposes in this Policy, to:
We take reasonable steps to ensure our service providers handle personal information securely and only for the services they provide to us.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it with others for their own marketing.
Overseas disclosure. Some of our service providers store or process personal information outside Australia. Where they do, we take reasonable steps to ensure the information is handled consistently with the APPs.
We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference and loss, and from unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. These include access controls and limiting access to people who need it. No system is completely secure.
If we become aware of a data breach likely to result in serious harm to you, we will tell you and, where required, the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC).
We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purposes in this Policy or as the law requires, then destroy or de-identify it.
You can ask for access to the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct it if it is inaccurate, out of date, incomplete, irrelevant or misleading. We may need to verify your identity first. We aim to respond within 30 days. If we decline a request, we will explain why in writing and tell you how to complain.
If you have a concern about how we have handled your personal information, please write to our Privacy Officer using the details below. We will acknowledge your complaint within five business days and aim to resolve it within 30 days.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you may be able to contact the OAIC at www.oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992.
